Vicinity is a keyword used to describe a buildings' area of effect in Tropico 5.
The maximum range of Vicinity is 48 Tiles Radius. Many buildings' effectiveness, bonuses and penalties are limited to Vicinity. The easiest method of measuring Vicinity is an Geothermal Power Plants' electric grid (i.e. the green area), an active Volcanos' disaster zone (i.e. the red area) or with an TV Stations' liberty bonus (i.e. the green area). In the post-Colonial era (when Cars become available) most Tropicans begin to work, shop, and generally live within the vicinity of their homes.
