For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Tourist Dock.
Tourist Docks have a minimum number once one is built; last one can't be demolished. Airport is another Tourist Port; geared more for the upper class tourists.
Tourism rating +5/each. Trash may appear, cast off from surrounding buildings, trash receptacles do not appear. Departing tourists do not always walk to the dock but rather are sometimes magically teleported to an egress(marked by 'E') once they check out of their lodging.
- "Tourists are distrustful folk and the sight of your industrial dock will make them sail away faster than you can say 'Shawshank Redemption'. The Passenger Dock will allow these nitpicks to enter your island from a more presentable location."
- "The place where tourists arrive on your island."
Placing a Tourist Port is a requirement for placing Tourist Lodgings and some Tourist Venues; most need not a 'working' Tourist Port to themselves be placed/built. The Tourist Dock is the cheapest means to this pre-placement strategy. Once built, the Tourist boat may bring in Tourists attracted by the 'Tourism Rating' of the island. Preplacing the structures that have an inate 'Tourism Rating' will help the ratings climb before the first 'Tourist' start to rate their experiance.
A nearby Garage may speed the tourist in spending their cash quicker; abate they sometimes have issues in using Garages, perhaps they arn't familiar enough with the island. Place a few Lodgings near the Tourist Ports also helps provided a garage is near them.
