A General (a highly promoted officer see Tropican military ranks) is a college-educated man who trains to lead the island's soldiers in battle. Unfortunately, their presence also tends to lower liberty, though classes in sensitivity can help reduce this effect. The higher a general's skill is, the better they perform in battle.
Having at least one general for every three soldiers keeps the military disciplined and the Militarists happy.
Generals and their immediate family are allowed to live on army bases as are soldiers and their immediate family.
Generals work in army bases, armories, and the East Point Academy(Tropico 4).
Experience in being a general or soldier is required for men to become the Minister of Defense in Tropico 4.
It's possible for a presidente to have been an influential general before rising to power, boosting their relationship with the Militarists and Nationalists and raising the rate of experience for all soldiers, but also reducing the island's overall liberty.
