For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Radio Station.

Radio stations are media buildings in Tropico 3 and Tropico 4. Depending on how skilled the station's journalists are, the level of liberty around the station will increase. In addition, depending on the kind of programming being produced, radio stations can either generate money depending on the age and education of people living near them or be useful instruments of propaganda. There can only be 5 radio stations present on the island.

Work Modes

Note that there can only be 1 radio station set to each work mode present on the island.

  • Presidente, All Day: Broadcasts speeches and news about the presidente, increasing the respect of all citizens living in the area.
  • Radio Free Tropico: Broadcasts programming to promote freedom and democracy, increasing the liberty of all citizens living in the surrounding area even further.
  • Bubblegum Pop: Broadcasts upbeat pop music, generating money from commercials for each young citizen (age 20 and under) living in the area.
  • Baja Bachata: Broadcasts rustic Caribbean folk music, generating money from commercials for each uneducated adult (age 21 and over) living in the area.
  • Opera: Broadcasts classical orchestra music, generating money from commercials for each college-educated adult (age 21 and over) living in the area.

Radio

Penultimo: Rejoice, fellow citizens, as we now have a new radio station on the island! Now you can enjoy Presidente's voice every day while you labor tirelessly under the scorching sun. If you are extremely lucky you might even hear the newest hit song composed, produced, and performed by no other than our great ruler.
