A Policeman is a high school-educated man whose job is to increase crime safety, arrest criminals, and throw them in jail. Unfortunately, their presence also tends to lower liberty, though classes in sensitivity can help reduce this effect. The higher a policeman's skill is, the more crime they reduce in their area.

Policemen work in police stations and prisons.

Tropico 4 added labor camps and dungeons.

Experience in being a policeman, SWAT member, or secret agent is required for men to become the Minister of the Interior.

It's possible for a presidente to have been an influential police officer before rising to power, boosting their relationship with the Militarists and lowering the rate of crime, but also reducing the island's overall liberty.

While an Uprising is in effect a policeman will use a pistol in combat.
