Missions (Tropico 1)

Tropico contains 9 " predesignated scenarios" (called missions in other games of the series). The scenarios place you in charge of different islands, each with its own goals to accomplish. The scenarios do not follow a linear storyline but some details may carry over from one to another. With that said the Strategy sections below may contain minute spoilers on how to complete each mission.

Born again

Description: A devastating earthquake has leveled most of your island. Only a few particular well built structures have survived (including your palace, of course ... no Spence was spare on its construction ) .With only 20 people and almost no infrastructure, rebuild your Island to a thriving happy paradise on earth.

Difficulty:Very hard

Objetive :Get 300 citizens and happiness to reach 60 before December 31, 1999 .

Game play: You start as Evita de Peron, $10,000 and 20 people along with the palace, dock, and construction office. Then you duty build almost a farm of corn or fisherman warhf, and steamers office obligatory.

Fruitas

Description: FruitasLtd. (the masive world-wide food conglomerate ) was rather unhappy with the performance of the last El presidente on this island suddenly, he is gone and you are on the power - and nobody seems to know where the former Presidente has retires to.

Your friend at Fruitas seem to believe that you will go along with their wishes better and ship them large quantities of bananas, papayas, and pineapples at cut rate prices. perhaps you should listen to them.

Difficulty:Hard

Objective :Export 100 pineapple (raw or canned ), 100 banana and 100 papayas loads before 31 dec 1979

Walktrough: You start with a cannery, 4 farms, 40 people, a construction office, a port, a teamster´s office $10,000

The price of produces is cut it to one Third of the standard prize

Isla de Foresta

Description : Once a tropical paradise, isla de foresta is no longer very beatiful. it´s once thriving forests have been chopped down , and n w the island economy has crashed .

Find a new resource of income to feed your people and hold on to your power base.

Perhaps you might even be able to help the forest to return

Objective:No common goal, you will be rated before 31 dec 1999

Los Exconvictos

A former prisoners´ colony Your island and all its inhabitants have been set free!

But now comes the hard part - your island has little rain, so few crops will grow don´t expect many inmigrants to the island either ,given it´s history and reputation. with few inmigrants and bad agriculture chart a course of prosperity and growth for the island, (Relax, you can still fish, mine and rip off yanqui tourist...)

Difficulty:Moderate

Objective:Get 200 people and got $50.000 in treasure before 31 dec 1989

Mi Corazon

Description:Your island has just converted to democracy( and elected you!), with the rest of the world watching.

The bad news is that, a hostile political environment, andd MANDATORY,FAIR elections every few years.

The good news is that the U.N will built your first 3 buildings (of your choice) absolutely Free and instantaneously

Difficulty: Ridiculously hard

Objective: Keep it in the power for 30 years before 31 dec 1979 in this scenario you are hire for the onu and have three first construction instantly and free but duty gets relations with US cordial and you cannot buy or cheat elections.

New Havana

Green isla

• The mission Fruitas is a reference to United Fruit Company at early of XX century in wich pay and finances rebellions and coup in distantc countryes of centeramerica for put dictadors and presidents wichs was puppets of the company intentions .
• The mother of all cigars has a bug which crash the game ( in year 1985 in an even when a newspaper offered promote the tropican cigars for $5.000 at Year) and don´t fixed until Tropico: Paradise Island
• In Tropico: Paradise island there is a tier what display a list of original tropico scenarios in the background with the picture of an stamp of island of tropico and (wish you were here) in red letters.
