Metro station are infrastructure buildings in Modern Times (Tropico 4). They don't provide the same degree of mobility that cars from garages do, since people can only use them to move from one station to another. However, metro stations require no workers, never get overcrowded, and can transport people much quicker. Unfortunately, the dark tunnels under metro stations provide a haven for crime. The building cost gets higher for each successive Metro Station that is built.
Builders heading to construction sites, and soldiers, generals, and SWAT members headed to battle will never use metro stations.
