For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Cannery.
Canneries are industry buildings in Tropico 5. Workers here preserve coffee, fish, and pineapples in cans, increasing their food quality and commodity prices.
Description[]
Canned Food is predicted to become the most desired commodity in the post apocalyptic future. Here's hoping that the apocalypse comes before the expiration date on the cans!
Upgrades[]
- Automated Line: (Modern Times) For $5,700, the cannery can install an automated line that processes goods into cans faster than usual, increasing effectiveness by 20 but reducing the number of workers by 4 because the machinery replaces their roles in the canning process.
- Central Air Conditioning: (Cold War) For $3,200, the cannery can install air conditioning to cool the workers from the tropical Caribbean heat, increasing the job quality by 20.
- High-Pressure Canner: For $4,800, the cannery can install high-pressure canners that can preserve food that are normally easier to spoil even if canned, allowing meat to be processed into canned goods.
