Tropico Wiki

For buildings of the same name in other Tropico games, see Cannery.

Canneries are industrial buildings in Tropico 1. Workers here take raw resources (fish, pineapples, coffee) and preserve them in cans, making them last longer to improve their Food Quality and selling price.

  • Packing House: For $3,000, an extension where raw materials can be sorted and prepared for canning can be built. This boosts production by 25%.
  • Flash Freezer: For $3,500 and 10 megawatts of power, a machine to freeze coffee grounds can be installed. Coffee that has been freeze-dried is better and 25% more expensive than regular canned coffee.

Work Modes

  • Sweat Shop: Work faster. Faster I said!!! (Keeps workers on the job for a full 14-hour day's effort).
  • Easy-Does-It: Workers hours are reduced by 20%. However, job happiness is increased by about 25%.
